My contribution to the July Visual Verse Challenge is up.
This month’s image was one that sent me reeling into a place of memory and nostalgia. Β If you want, you can check out my poem, “Memorizing the Words”, and the entire first batch of amazing poems for the month.

I really like that. Nostalgic and provoked a lot of imagery for me. Well done!

Thank you!!!! I grew up with music everywhere; remembering it felt like rediscovering good fortune!

Beautiful, Susan. So happy to see you and Walt on there!!!
This poem really paints those memories for us.

Thank you, Wulf!!! Life would be so dull without music. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of poems this month; the image gave such range.

Thank you, Beautiful!!!! The music of our childhood was the best!!!! I still listen to all the songs my parents played!

Yay!! You rocked it Susan! You grabbed those drumsticks and pounded out that musical poem like you were Neil Peart! I give you not one, not two, not three, but six drum rolls and six cymbal crashes! Bravo!!

What do you mean if you want? I do, a little piece of you, every time. Beautifully musical.

You always make me feel good, Gorgeous Lady, like I have value, like my work has value. This one is a bit clunky (especially at the end), but hell, I only had an hour to write it.
July 9, 2018 at 2:36 pm
There’s nth clunky about it. An hour? This is a joke, right?
July 9, 2018 at 2:42 pm
You are the sweetest to me!!!! The Visual Verse Challenge is to write 50 to 500 words in an hour or less, in response to the monthly image. You can still do it this month!!!! It is super fun and challenging!
July 9, 2018 at 2:45 pm
This is too challenging for me.
July 9, 2018 at 2:49 pm
Nothing is too challenging for you, my friend. You are the definition of a Fierce and Lovely Rock Star!!!!!! You can’t hide it. I have read your poetry!!!!
July 9, 2018 at 10:58 pm
Let’s say a punk rocker. I’ll be waiting for Wulf’s feedback…
July 10, 2018 at 7:37 am
Yeah, much more a punk rocker!!!!

Music holds moments in time. Itβs memory, every note! Beautiful poem, Susan!
July 10, 2018 at 7:40 am
Thank you so much,Angela! I can’t imagine life without music; it is what brings back so many memories from my childhood and I think without it, the memories would be even fewer.

Same here! π
