As I prepare for my reading on July 14th, I thought I would post the final recorded poem from the series originally published in The Writing DisorderPoetry. If you are a writer who is interested in submitting your work to journals, I highly recommend sending something to TWD; they are publishing some really fantastic and diverse writers.

I am a writer, going blind in Los Angeles. This blog is my story of a slow approach to darkness as I traverse through the rubble of urban life. It is what I see in the withering spaces of my remaining vision. It is humor and despair and darkness and light. It is what I witness as the world slowly disappears.

Perfect.
Never heard of them, to be honest. I’ll remember that.

Thank you, Gorgeous!! You really should keep them in mind. It was this woman’s poetry that turned me onto them years ago; she is brilliant! http://writingdisorder.com/keiona-wallace/

Wow. So good. Thanks for sharing.
Interestingly, I recently wrote about Japanese cherry trees.

They sing to be written about, painted, tattooed; I have a cherry blossom tree tattooed on my back and the branches and flowers fall over my shoulders. There is a serenity about it.
