I am thrilled see my poem,” Stress Fracture“, published today in Literati Magazine. My huge thanks to publisher Renée Sigel!!!

I am a writer, going blind in Los Angeles. This blog is my story of a slow approach to darkness as I traverse through the rubble of urban life. It is what I see in the withering spaces of my remaining vision. It is humor and despair and darkness and light. It is what I witness as the world slowly disappears.

Bukowski said, if you want to be a poet, you have to be honest. You’re both, that’s why people love you. You’re a brave woman, without even knowing it.
(how rage and silence leave scars…oh yes!)

Thank you so much, Gorgeous Lady!!! You so often remind me of why I write, help me keep going when I feel the words fading. I am so grateful to you and for you, B!!

This is what words can do, make you feel, think deep… remarkable writing, and if I may say, a remarkable woman, you.

Ken’s dad has severe dementia and you writing about your father’s has really helped me. Now of course, he’s in long term care and it’s been really hard on the family–we miss him and the man he used to be so much.

Suzanne, I am so sorry. I know the transition to the care facility is a difficult one, but ultimately for the best. I think it is really important to talk to and hear from others who are going through or have gone through something similar. I am so glad my poems help you; it is what it is all about, being a writer. Love you!
