This really is a wonderful reminder that poetry should be heard and not just read. I had to play this three times back-to-back and then go read the text and listen to it while my eyes moved over the words.

Love the way you weave the reader/listener into the moment of who she is in the depths of her very being. The why is dispensed of simply to tell the story of a visceral, painful existence. And her response is so relate-able to anyone who has been marginalized, harmed intentionally, willfully, or by way of negligence or even those times when all things are out of control.
Such is us as humans.

This is an incredible response, Mark! Thank you so very much!!!
