I don’t usually do these challenge things, but when Steve nominated me, I couldn’t resist. Steve is just a super cool, inspiring, smart, no bullshit guy, and I adore him! Follow the link above and check out his incredible blog! Thank you Steve for selecting me to participate in this challenge.
Here’s how this thing works:
1. Thank the person that nominated you.
2. Write one quote each day for three consecutive days (3 quotes total)
3. Explain why the quote is meaningful for you.
4. Nominate three bloggers each day to participate in the challenge
It is still Poetry Month, so a great opportunity to offer up some more wonderful words from poets!
“Perhaps some day I’ll crawl back home, beaten, defeated. But not as long as I can make stories out of my heartbreak, beauty out of sorrow.”
~Sylvia Plath
I pretty much love everything that Sylvia Plath wrote, but this quote is especially meaningful because I feel it defines a lot of my own feelings about being a writer and what I strive to do with my writing.
If they would like to participate, I would love to read some quotes that inspire or excite or have meaning for:
Bojana, because she teaches me something with every word she writes and I know she will offer sublime inspiration from the words that inspire her.
Wulf, because his wisdom holds a constant and beautiful light, and we all need some Wulf in our lives.
Tanya, because there is a light inside of her that reaches every soul she touches, through her writing and her immense heart. I know that whatever she shares will find a place in all of our hearts, and stay there forever.

Hmm. Indeed. Agree. She had that thing. I think it’s inborn.

I too don’t take part in such challenges any more but the fact that it comes from you and that you just quoted Sylvia Plath made me change my mind (but only this time).

Thank you Gorgeous!!! I will probably only end up doing the one day…..that rules thing is always tricky for me.
April 19, 2018 at 11:40 am
I was wondering about that Day 1 thing….Yes, same here.

I still haven’t decided; is that terrible that I have to decide whether or not to follow rules? I am 16 in a 48 year old body.

Hahahahaha!!!!! Love it!

I’ll be, like, posting 9 or 10 quotes and challenging, like, 0-3 people. 🤣

Tom, I knew you were a party breaker too. At least I won’t be alone.
April 19, 2018 at 8:30 am
Oh Susan! Yes! This is so wonderful! I believe this too. Thank you for this incredible inspiration today! As you know much of my suffering, I must try to follow your beautiful example and turn it into art.
April 19, 2018 at 8:53 am
I was just thinking about you and how every breath you take, everything you write and do, is art. I have learned that from your heart Sarah and from your words!
April 19, 2018 at 9:45 pm
Oh Susan, you are so lovely! And you made a rhyme! I changed it slightly…
Those who boast of their alliance
Their Superiority and science
Leaving us who wish and dream
Writing out our sufferings…
Child demoralized, take heart,
Everything you do is art.
April 20, 2018 at 10:19 am
Sarah, this is so perfect!!!! It is so exactly there.

I am learning to look at Sylvia Plath sans Nicole Kidman. Thanks, Susan! ~kim
April 19, 2018 at 4:42 pm
I will post some more of her stuff before the month ends Kim!

Susan, you are an absolute doll. Thank you for thinking of me for this challenge, it means a whole lot!! As you know, I am as unreliable as they come right now, so I will offer up this quote here, because it reminds me to live every moment.
Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live ~ Norman Cousins
Big hug, girl! ❤️
