I am undeniably excited that it is April and National Poetry Month. I am looking forward to an array of poetry challenges this month, including the two I always post about; Visual Verse and Rattle Ekphrastic. I am hoping that anyone who reads or visits my blog will feel free to share their own poetry or poetry they love. I am going to start it off with a poet whose work I love and who I have come to admire and care for deeply. His current series of poems are some of the most beautiful Haiku I have read. Here are links to the first three, Arrival (Part I of New Life), Meeting (Part II of New Life) and Beckoning (Part III of New Life). These poems possess a delicate beauty and a divine richness. A perfect way to start the month.
Happy National Poetry Month!!!

Yes, a perfect way to start the month. Boy will he be surprised!
April 1, 2018 at 11:28 am
I hope so. He deserves it. I know you have been loving his Haiku as well. I would love it if you would share some poetry this month Bojana, yours or any that you love; you are so talented and so well versed. I didn’t want to do a formal thing, but please please share!
April 1, 2018 at 11:32 am
I will, my dear. Just for you. Rattle says posting your poems on your blog is not publishing so I might as well do it.
April 1, 2018 at 11:44 am
Wonderful❤️. And yes, for this submission call that is true, but not for others. This is a very special call from Rattle. I am so excited you are doing it!,
April 1, 2018 at 1:14 pm
I have been struggling to comment, Susan. You are so freaking special for doing this. Please don’t mistake my brevity for anything other than being overwhelmed by you and your kindness.
April 1, 2018 at 1:24 pm
Your poems are a perfect way to start Poetry Month, Wulf! You don’t have to say anything, just keep writing poetry!
April 1, 2018 at 1:26 pm
☺️💗☺️
April 1, 2018 at 6:10 pm
Lovely for Wulf. I love reading his work, and yours too, Susan! Now looks like Bojana will give it a go. Yeah! I’m so excited to read it all!~kim
April 1, 2018 at 6:32 pm
Thank you Kim!!! I am so excited for Bojana! And I also love Wulf’s work, obviously. Any thoughts of jumping back in the Poetry pool yourself? In honor of Poetry Month? I adore you, Lady!!!!!!
April 1, 2018 at 6:58 pm
Tou just never know… if I did, what would you suggest I start with? Visual verse???? OR ???
April 1, 2018 at 7:04 pm
Visual Verse, definitely. And the image is pretty compelling this month, I think. Last months was really tough. I love Visual Verse because it is really about writing whatever comes up; it is so pure. Go for it Kim! If you decide to do it, I would love to post your poem when it gets posted, if you are cool with that. xoxoxoxoxo
April 1, 2018 at 7:08 pm
I think I’m going to pass out. So if I write a poem, do I send it to you? Then you post it? Unless it sucks then for gods sakes woman, don’t post it!!! Buffer!!! I looked at the picture… I’ll try a little something… I think…. if it works, where should I send it to? OMG! I can ‘t believe this… I must adore you too!!!
April 1, 2018 at 7:17 pm
You are sooo fucking cool Kim! Give yourself the hour and just write and if you feel like it, submit it to them via their site. They will publish it some time in the next two weeks or so and when they do, I will put out a post featuring your poem. I love how you dive into things Kim; it totally inspires me. I am going to do my Visual Verse tomorrow! Are you on Twitter? You can also always contact me via Twitter. @floweringink

Oh god. Deliver me some alcohol so I can become a better writer… lol. My husband is in the next room trying to take a selfie for his work badge. All I hear is “fucker!” After I rescue him, I’ll give it a shot. HAHAHA!
April 1, 2018 at 7:24 pm
Rescue the Norseman and then give it a go!!!!
April 1, 2018 at 7:27 pm
Indeed as Odin has obviously turned his back it is up to his Valkyrie to end his suffering… (yes, that’d be me, his Valkyrie…)
April 1, 2018 at 7:27 pm
I am going to rescue my husband from our crazy dogs. Just relax and write and let what happens, happen. It is the fun of Visual Verse!
April 2, 2018 at 1:08 pm
Please do it!!!!
April 2, 2018 at 1:16 pm
Not you too!!! I did it. I did it!!!
April 2, 2018 at 1:16 pm
Oh yes..me too!!! I am so happy you did it.
April 1, 2018 at 7:19 pm
You mean IF it gets posted? Do I post it on my own site? Oh man, I’ll figure this out… I am a complete idiot for agreeing to this. I am hungover on jelly beans… Yes! And pie!
April 1, 2018 at 7:23 pm
Oh, I want Pie!!!! Visual Verse posts pretty much everything; they edit for anything racist, sexist or overly violent, but everything else goes up on the site. It is also good because you always maintain copyright. It is sort of like an amazing writers group that spans the globe; kind of like here.
April 1, 2018 at 7:29 pm
Ok! Yikes, just gonna do it.
April 2, 2018 at 9:03 am
Did you do it Kim? I am going to do mine now; take advantage of the quiet while Joe and the dogs are asleep!
April 2, 2018 at 10:19 am
…yes i did…eeek!
April 2, 2018 at 11:18 am
Yay!!!! I just did mine as well!
April 2, 2018 at 11:53 am
Yay for us!!! Mutual admiration party time!!!
April 2, 2018 at 11:55 am
Hell Yeah!!!
April 2, 2018 at 10:20 am
I lost the connection when I was submitting so maybe it didn’t go in… that’d be a SIGN! A BIG ONE!
April 2, 2018 at 11:18 am
Not a sign, just a technical glitch. The same thing just happened to me.
April 2, 2018 at 11:55 am
Is there a way to check if they received it? Or should I just resend it… are you sure it wasn’t a sing… maybe my computer will blow up if I re-try! Who knows?
April 2, 2018 at 11:58 am
I re-sent mine, just in case. I promise your computer will not blow up. 😃❤️
April 2, 2018 at 12:19 pm
Here goes nothing!
April 2, 2018 at 1:16 pm
Yay!!!!!
April 6, 2018 at 1:21 pm
Just so you know Kim, Visual Verse doesn’t tell you when they have posted your piece, so I check the site every day to see if they have started posting. It looks like they started today. Ours may come up in a later group because we submitted the second day. Anyway, keep checking and I will keep my eyes open as well!!!! So exciting!
April 6, 2018 at 1:25 pm
OMG! I am so nervous I may wet my pants!!! But sometimes when I sneeze that happens so… maybe I should be used to that. 😂 😂 😂
April 6, 2018 at 1:34 pm
Hahahah! I hate that sneeze/pee thing……It is going to be great!!!!! You may have a few days to prepare (they can be slow getting everything posted) and I won’t do the feature on my blog without your ok.
April 6, 2018 at 1:35 pm
What does a feature mean? Is there any blood involved?
April 1, 2018 at 6:56 pm
Great pick, Susan! Looking forward to reading more masterful poems this month. Still trying to process how amazing that poetry challenge was last month, wowzers!
April 1, 2018 at 7:06 pm
I will definitely have to do a post recapping all of the amazing poetry everyone wrote. And, if you want to throw in the hat again Tanya…….just sayin’
April 2, 2018 at 8:13 am
Oh wonderful–he’s definitely one of my favourite writers! I wish I was better at writing poetry, but for now, I’ll just have to revel in the work of people like you, who are so talented at it!
April 2, 2018 at 8:46 am
OK You are too kind as well. Thank you so very freaking much!!!!
April 2, 2018 at 8:59 am
I didn’t do anything, Sweet Wulf! You are writing the poems!!!!!!
April 2, 2018 at 9:28 am
Yes I am writing them…but you are doing more than you realize. Thank you so very very much.
April 18, 2018 at 11:06 pm
