I am so excited and honored to have been asked to be a part of the Literary Juice Q&A Series. I owe huge thanks to editor Sara Rajan, for her beautiful questions and for her support of my writing. You can read the interview here.

“I don’t buy into writer’s block. I used to use it as an excuse for not writing, but I believe there is always something deeper that keeps us from our creative selves”
Amen to that, sister! If we want to be writers, then what we must do is write. The rest is just that nagging voice of resistance that Steven Pressfield talks about in The War of Art. Great job, and congratulations on your continued success and recognition!

Thank you my friend! This is what we have been chatting about a bit lately and I had clearly been thinking about it at the time of the interview. It took me ages to get to the point of knowing that writers block is just an excuse, but I think once we get there, it is liberating! I think that I am getting published simply because I am doing the writing and when you do it every day, some half way decent things are bound to emerge every once in a while. Writing every day also finally helped me feel like I was a writer in practice and not just in name. The War of Art is something that has been on my reading list for over 20 years and recommended to me over and over again; I should buckle down and read it.

You should! In fact, I intend to read it again. The great thing about it, as I recall, is the simple, short wisdom of each chapter. It’s real easy to tackle one in a spare moment! 🙂
