I am super excited that one of my short essays came out in The Furious Gazelle today. They have accepted a second one that will appear in January of next year!!!!

I am a writer, going blind in Los Angeles. This blog is my story of a slow approach to darkness as I traverse through the rubble of urban life. It is what I see in the withering spaces of my remaining vision. It is humor and despair and darkness and light. It is what I witness as the world slowly disappears.

Thank you!!!!! I can’t lie, it is nice to get published, but sometimes I don’t get at all why anyone is publishing my stuff. This particular piece is not my favorite, but it is nice that they saw something in it. They are publishing another of my essays in January that I think is much more fluid; but I just need to be grateful for all of it. I can’t wait to read the post you put up when your first submitted piece is published!!!!! I cannot tell you how much I admire you!

I am so looking forward to reading your second essay in January! The one I just read was amazing, so I am glad they saw what I also saw in that essay. You are inspiring me to keep writing. I admire you so much and am determined to write a blog post this weekend because of you!!

I am so glad and I can’t wait to read your post – I love reading your stuff; you inspire and encourage me with your talent and your honesty! I think this most recent essay was one that couldn’t really decide what it wanted to be; that happens to me a lot because I mainly write poetry and the essay writing is more of a challenge, but I so appreciate your kind words. xoxo
